My parents!

I was looking for a recipe the other day in a big binder full of recipes that my mum has printed off the internet throughout the years. I couldn't find what I was looking for so I just started looking at all the different recipes. And, in the midst of all these recipes, I found a printed-off email from my dad's {work} email address to my mum's. It was dated April 3, 2000.
And this is what it said:

"There is someone I dearly love
And ought to tell her so
And so I wrote this poem

In hopes that she would know
There is no line of clever verse
To show what’s in my mind –
A better friend, a stronger love

I never need to find
I hope someday I’ll be the things

I want to be for her
But she accepts me as I am
And i like that, fer sure

I love you."

I just thought that was so sweet! I love my parents so much. {And I hope to be as talented a writer as my dad someday.}
My parents anniversary is today. They've been married for 23 years!
God has blessed me so much with this family. :)

  1. Hey, I just got your comment :)
I sort of came up with the place in my head, it was almost like I'd been there before. I was hoping that anyone who read it was able to picture it.

Silhouettes of a secret. A story told over a cuppa. Or perhaps just sitting on that stone bench, basking in the moonlight... and not saying anything at all.
